Evangeline Theater is excited to announce auditions for ROCK OF AGES!

This five-time Tony Award-nominated musical tells the story of a small-town girl, a city boy, and a rock 'n' roll romance on the Sunset Strip. Rock of Ages' electric score features '80s rock anthems and power ballads, including: "Every Rose Has It's Thorn," "I Wanna Know What Love Is," "Here I Go Again," "Don't Stop Believin'," and bands like Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake and more.!

Directed and choreographed by Emily Carmadelle with Music Direction by Reagan Hightower.

Rehearsals will take place at Cedarwood School in Mandeville. Performances will take place at the Fuhrmann Auditorium  at the The Greater Covington Center, January 30-February 8, 2025.

Auditions for Rock of Ages will be Saturday, September 28th at 1pm at Cedarwood School, 601 Heavens Dr. Mandeviille in the Cedarwood gym.

Auditionees are asked to prepare 1-2 minutes of a 80's rock song or power ballad. Please bring an accompaniment track on your phone. Evangeline will provide a bluetooth speaker to sync sound. Women may be asked to dance, please bring something you can move in and a comfortable shoe. Some auditionees may be asked to do a cold read.

**Please note, if you would like to get an idea of the show, the Director highly recommends you listen to the Original Broadway Soundtrack and steer clear of the movie which is vastly different from the stage production.

Due to working around the holidays, rehearsals will begin mid-late October. Rehearsals will be M-Th nights, typically (6:30-9:00) and some Saturdays (10-1). Not everyone will be asked to attend every rehearsal. Please list any and all conflicts on the audition google form attached here.

ROLES CURRENTLY AVAILABLE:

LONNY: The narrator of the piece, charming, mischievous, welcoming, vibrant personality, a guy who would be fun to spend one drunken night with. Strong, honest comedic timing and improv skills, and strong rock vocals.

STACEE JAXX: A sexy rock star. Decided to leave his successful hair/metal-rock band to try it solo. Self important, confident intriguing in all the wrong ways, the ultimate bad boy; he is all about sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll. Great comedic timing and strong rock tenor voice.
