Auditions will take place at Evangeline Theater Company, 2635 N. Causeway Approach in Mandeville on Sunday, June 28 at 6pm AND Monday, June 29 at 6pm. Possible Callbacks Wednesday, June 30 if needed.

Show dates are: Sept. 18- Oct. 4

Please prepare a 60 second cut of an upbeat song in the style of the show. Please provide backing tracks on your device. Please also review these sides in advance (we will provide hard copies at the audition as well. Sides do not need to be memorized).

Rehearsal Information
Rehearsals begin: August 3rd
Rehearsals will be primarily M-Th from 6:30-8:30 and we will most likely add rehearsals on either Sat or Sun as we get closer to opening, based on cast availability.
Shows runs Sept. 18-Oct 4, Fri- Sat at 730 and Sundays at 2.
Rehearsals will fluctuate, depending on availability. Not all members of the cast will be called to every rehearsal. Rehearsals will often be week nights from 6:30-8:30, sometimes going until 9pm. Weekend rehearsals may occur if schedules allow. ETC is passionate about not wasting actor’s time, therefore, it is IMPERATIVE that you list all conflicts that you are aware of on the Google Form.​

ROLES AVAILABLE

ALL ROLES OPEN - AGE IS SIMPLY A SUGGESTION   

 

KIRA/ KITTY – Female; Vocal Range: G3-A5; Moderate/Heavy Dance; MUST ROLLER SKATE WITH PROFICIENCY. The youngest of Zeus's daughters and the muses. Falls in love with Sonny. Pretty. Adventurous. Honest and determined. Muse of history and the leader of the muses. Age 18- 25.  

 

SONNY MALONE – Male; Vocal Range: B3-C6 (falsetto); Moderate/Heavy Dance; MUST ROLLER SKATE WITH PROFICIENCY. A self-critical and depressed, mortal, chalk artist who falls in love with Kira. Handsome, but not particularly smart. He embodies 1980s pop culture and is very much a California dreamer. Age 20-30.  

 

DANNY MAGUIRE – Male; Vocal Range: A3-C6; Minimal Dance; No Roller Skating; The hard-nosed “all work and no play” businessman who owns the theater he once built for his love, Kira. Used to be a budding artist like Sonny but has since let money and greed consume him. Typically doubles as Zeus. Age 50-70  

 

MELPOMENE – Female; Vocal Range: G3-A5; Moderate Dance; No Roller Skating; Kira’s oldest sister. Mother of the Sirens. She is jealous that Kira is the leader of the muses rather than herself, and therefore creates the plot for her downfall. Muse of tragedy. Age 30-60 

 

CALLIOPE – Female; Vocal Range: G3-A5; Moderate Dance; No Roller Skating; Kira’s older sister and fellow muse. She is jealous of Kira and, as Melpomene’s sidekick, plots with her for Kira’s downfall. The Muse of epics. Typically doubles as Aphrodite. Age 30-60. 

 

ERATO – Female; Vocal Range: G3-C6; Heavy Dance; Possible Roller Skating; One of Kira’s older sisters and fellow muse. Muse of lyrics and erotica. Actor doublings include: Siren, Andrews Sister, Eros, and Hera.  Age 25-45.  

 

EUTERPE – Female; Vocal Range: G3-A5; Heavy Dance; Possible Roller Skating; One of Kira’s older sisters and fellow muse. Muse of music. Actor doublings include: Siren, Andrews Sister, and Thetis.. Age 20-35.  

 

THALIA – Male ; Vocal Range: C4-C6; Heavy Dance; Possible Roller Skating;  One of Kira's older sisters and fellow muse. Muse of comedy. Actor doublings include: Siren, Young Danny, Tubes Singer, and Cyclops.

 

TERPSICORE – Male; Vocal Range: C4-C6; Heavy Dance; Possible Roller Skating; One of Kira's older sisters and fellow muse. Muse of dance. As Hermes, the messenger of the gods, he is deeply masculine in voice but sassy and flippant in attitude. Actor doublings include: Siren, Tubes Singer, Hermes, and Centaur.
